Today’s photo prompt is open to abuse: it asks for a portrait of treasure. Well, if I had a treasure, the last thing I’d do is to flaunt it for thieves and murders to get. Since I don’t have a treasure though, it’s a no issue. In lieu of treasure, I present my beloved laptop Lena. Sure, I wanted to present my cat, but you know her already.

The prompt for today’s shooting venture is really just big but I added badass for extra effect. Another extra of my response is the fact that I actually shot this with a real camera. Sure, on auto, because I suck, but I dragged the DSLR thing out of the depths of the closet and took it for an outing. My first in a year or so. Even more, I shot it in portrait mode, which I otherwise never use for reasons I forgot (but they must have been good). Here’s big and badass on several levels then.

Yeah, I’m seriously interpreting the photo prompt solitude with a picture of three people. The couple was making out (the bastards stopped just before I snapped them) and the woman sitting at the bench was looking at them with apparent envy. Because solitude sucks. Sometimes.

Today’s obvious photo prompt asks to connect. I did so on several levels. I shot a horror snap of railway tracks, railway being the literal means of connection. The snap was taken very early in the morning, which represents the connection between night and day. So clever, right? And no, of course I didn’t bother to get up at an impossible hour only for the sake of shooting a premeditated photo. I had to be up anyway and the snap was just opportune. Or random, to be more exact.

When someone declares they’re blessed, it triggers the worst in me. I can’t make myself believe the authenticity of such a bold statement and I can’t help doubting the claimant’s sound sense.
Unfortunately, this photo challenge goes with the mainstream flow and asks to deliver a photo of bliss. Let’s not reiterate that the experience of enjoyment is alien to me, and as to bliss, I know nothing.
I therefore documented what I hated the least recently, which was when I finally did my nails. I hate the activity of doing my nails, what a bloody bother, but I like the result of having my nails done.

The next subject to shoot in this challenge is water. Since I couldn’t be bothered, I shot a manhole whose dents retained some rain water (and a lot of dirt). Admit it though: doesn’t the manhole look sort of picturesque?

Prompt two of this photo challenge discriminates against challenged people who can’t or won’t go out. I can but I won’t. I did though. Especially to fulfil this task, I left the flat and shot the nearest random street, which is the subject keyword for today.

I can’t get enough of challenges. I should challenge myself not to accept any challenge for, say, thirty days. On second thought, that seems excessive. I shall not accept any challenge for the next thirty minutes.
I’m done with WordPress’s photo challenge Developing Your Eye part II, so I subscribed to the prequel, part I. I’ve received the first few prompts now and they fiercely amuse me. They are so, how to put it nicely—dumb?
Don’t even consider joining this anti-challenge unless you’ve never attempted to take a photo in your life. Task one is to locate your camera, find the fire button and take a picture of what home means to you. I haven’t felt at home for many years, so instead, here’s my cat at home.
