    1. I whipped up this post from a single shooting session on my way to the supermarket 😮 Not much effort went into it; but I was pleased myself with the colourful tenements. I have a weak spot for them. Even when they’re just grey, but the original grey tenements often get new colour coats (along with new insulation and such things), so they end up often wildly colourful. The pictures of broken branches and bark were taken in the middle of a housing estate, we had some strong storms which were breaking trees in the last days.

      1. Great! They may have done something to all those grey tenements back home too. They’re mainly around the three, largest cities; Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö. Haven’t been in any of them for quite some time now. They were all built in the 60s.

        1. Scandinavia seems to be less colourful than CZ, which I quite like. Here, home owners get all different colours for their facades, and it’s often just too much colour. They don’t care about colour coordinating with their neighbour! Ah, Malmö, my only knowledge of Malmö is from The Bridge, the catchphrase “Saga Norén, Länskrim, Malmö”… I’m enjoying the series more and more.

          1. The area, where she lives, (you see some water feature outside the building), that’s one of the two places in Malmö where I’ve actually been. That place, and the only tall, twisted building you see, sticking up there (The Turning Torso). I know nothing about Malmö, and never even visited the real downtown area. The funny part in that series, is that when they’re in Sweden, none of the Swedes speaks with the dialect of that region (Skåne). That dialect is very pronounced and closer to Danish. They all speak some kind of Stockholm-dialect 🙂
            Tonight we’ll finish season 3. I miss Martin Rhode.

I’m good, I still have a few episodes of season two to go and then season three 🙂 I watch the show with dubbing, and while it sounds awkward, Saga is well dubbed by a person with a cold voice, a great fit for the character of Saga. She speaks, in Czech dubbing, with a completely flat voice. This is obviously a great thing in this case. I might try to find the last season with subtitles so I could hear the original voices.

  4. What a lovely collection of shots Mara. So nice to see a glimpse of your world. I miss this challenge. I will definitely join again next year now that I’m settled in.

    1. Thanks a lot for your kind comment! I didn’t finish the challenge last year, so this year it’s my retake. I hope I’ll stick to it. And perhaps you could join the challenge even now, half-way through the year. It could still be interesting to compare your photos spanning over six months. It doesn’t have to be a year, right?

    1. Yep, that’s the most common thing. All the same, people are going crazy with grass mowing these days, I have no clue what they’re mowing when the grass is still overgrown like that.

    1. Photos are very deceiving. Mine were all taken in a not so nice area of social housing. Summer makes everything look nicer. Except the tenements, which look awesome to me no matter the season.

  8. I’m not sure what I like most about blogging, the actual post or following the comments! Sometimes the comments are more entertaining 🙂 But you know I love your photos and your unique take on the challenge. Love all the ‘bits’ you have shown us this month.
