I went to the nature. I was half-awed and half-terrified. Because ticks, midges, bugs, myxomatosis and rabbits, rabies and foxes, wolves, boars and whatnot. Now I’m going to get undressed and spend a nice evening—checking for ticks.

Here are some gritty city snaps from my latest business trip adventure. Spending about four hours on trains and buses to get somewhere and another four hours to get back is only bearable when I spend time snapping everything.
Shot with my iPhone 8 and edited in Adobe Photoshop. Kidding. I don’t do Apples and I’m not a fan of Adobe either. Shoot me. Actually, shot with my Android-running Lenovo mobile, which is as badass as any Apple, and edited in Snapseed, which is, hands down, the best phone photo editing app around.
One of the many trains I’ve been
My favourite local graffiti
I’m bizarrely attracted to abandoned cigarette packages
(Not) historically valuable tile floor
Classic boot selfie
Don’t worry. There’s no literal shit here, just figurative shit. All snaps snapped on my way to Tesco because I don’t go anywhere else. I don’t have a life. What’s life anyway?
Caught in the act
White and green and blurry
White and green and not blurry
The one plant whose name I know
That’s shit and I know it
It’s been raining, raining and raining, on and on and on. You get the idea. In case you can’t imagine it, here’s visual documentation. I’d never go out but I needed to replenish my Oreos supplies (they lasted exactly one day). *shrug*
That’s a lot of green
That’s how I found out my boots were not waterproof
Smurfs have been here
Glittery and slippery
Did someone lose a leaf?
Almost cute raindrops
I know. This looks like a totally random gallery I threw together when drunk. There’s however a hidden idea!
All Most of these pictures have textures, patterns and structures in them, which are quite simple and straightforward and striking. That doesn’t really explain anything. So just take my word for it.
Perfectly good Tesco potatoes
I don’t even know where to begin
This is clearly a unicorn
Ok, this is just random
And this is classic!
Everything around me seems to be ugly, so I make it into an advantage. You couldn’t shoot this in civilisation. Here’s pretty much a proof that things are falling apart and everyone is dead.
Everyone has clearly died
Let’s build a street on top of a street
Dare you pass through the pass?
Something went wrong here
This house isn’t condemned
Someone actually lives behind this
Hog Butcher for the World,
Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat,
Player with Railroads and the Nation’s Freight Handler;
Stormy, husky, brawling,
City of the Big Shoulders.

The other day I ventured on a business trip. It was good but the best thing about it was when it ended. It involved getting up at 3:45 am. I normally go to bed at 4:00 am. Yes. As far as my as my zombie condition allowed, I busied myself taking photos from trains and buses. I’m a firm believer in the ugly being pretty when it comes to it.
The sun also rises
Everyone is waiting for something
Low-cost is an euphemism

Because my existence is so bleak, I’m attempting to balance it out with colourfully filtered photos. Filtered beyond recognition. I’m turning nature into a pop icon—with the pops of colours and all.
The brick divide
A see-through tree
Not too encouraging
See the snail?
Poking through the holes
Something wet and dead
I’ve been really overdoing myself shooting-wise. I don’t travel, I refuse to leave the house even, so my scope of subjects for taking pictures is extremely limited. I accept the challenge though and can be found these days wandering around my two rooms and snapping everything.
The bulb inside my lamp
A radioactive-warning-like reflection
That wasn’t me
I swear the holes were already there
Guess what! A hob!
My preferred mobile photo editing app, Snapseed, got a makeover. I hate it because they shuffled the buttons and now I can’t find a thing. I love it because they added filters. Filters! *happy dance* Scratch that. I’m neither happy nor do I dance. Ever. Here are some happy colourful filtered photos instead.
Sunsets are so boring
Flowers are boring too
