Eclectic Corner: Splash of Colour

Eclectic Corner: Splash of Colour

eclectic-corner-04

I’m contributing with a splash colour to lovely Justine’s Eclectic Corner – I hope my splash qualifies, asย post-editing saturation-wise was prohibited and so I was deprived of my favourite tool!

  1. Yay you did it! Now call me greedy but where’s the itty bitty haiku to go with or? Though I know this and the quote optional, being my kitty wife of course I have high expectations ๐Ÿ˜€

So tell me was it a bit of cold Turkey with no de saturation?

Thank you so much for joining in abd wow that is one heck of a bright food stall or whatever it is haha that’s def a splash!! Xx

    1. I promise I was trying hard… I spent half an hour trying to find a quote and produce a haiku but I found nothing I fancied and produced nothing at all… Next time you’ll need to be easier on me – I guess all my energies went into NOT using desaturation ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ha.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! This kind of stands is common where I live, so for me it’s an ordinary sight – I’m glad you found it interesting.

  2. What is this exactly?

In my country, there’s a lot of these mini shops, but I didn’t expect to see one where you live.

And….I can’t help but notice that even this mini-shop hasn’t been spared the graffiti….
It’s both funny and sad.Funny, because the Czech youngsters really seem to have a sort of obsession with graffiti.Sad,because everything would look so beautiful without these scribblings..

    1. Oh, there are these stands in Mauritius too? Intriguing! I somehow couldn’t imagine them there – but obviously there’s a lot I can’t imagine about your country.

It’s primarily a newspaper kiosk, but it sells cigarettes and alcohol too. There are also fast food kiosks looking like this.

And yes, most of them are covered in graffiti! Not in the street-art-kind of graffiti but in the scribbles seen here. Yes, it is a shame…

    1. Thank you for appreciating the pretty in the ugly ๐Ÿ™‚ I may or may have not fiddled with the photo after posting it here and postediting it “properly” saturation-wise…

          1. Well, how do you even know what you’ve been charged with? I assumed you were like Josef K. in Kafka – put under arrest for an unknown crime. Wait till you’re be summoned to your hearing…

    1. It is so bright that it hurts the eye… I do admit I applied the vignette effect to make the edges of the photo darker, so that the colour in the centre pops up. Otherwise no saturation tools were used though…
