Emancipation Declaration

Emancipation Declaration

Thoughts you think when tied to the sink

Ambition, aspiration, art

Life, love, liberty

Put an end to it

You slit

Your wrists

  1. And what, I wonder, are the thoughts when the bonds have been loosened and you are no longer tied to the sink? I’m sure not happy right away, but hopefully they can be soon filled with thoughts on “Ambition, aspiration, art; Life, love, liberty” and how they can be achieved, not ended.

    1. Thank you reading, Trent, and for leaving such an encouraging comment. I’m sorry if this little piece of mine came across as too scary or even actually suicidal! Although it was inspired by my personal experience, I don’t identify myself fully with the speaker of the poem, and I’m in fact doing quite fine now that I have set up a new home and a new life ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I know you have a new life so my comment was an unsubtle way of asking how things are going since you’ve set off on your own ; ) This comment implies to me that things are going well.

        1. Oh, you were subtle and discreet enough! And yes, things are perfect! In so far as anything is ever perfect ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll be blogging about my settling in and the first days and so on, I hope it will be fun! Thank you for your support.

    1. You are right of course! I’m sorry if this pseudo-poem of mine came across as suicidal or something, I was just in a Plath-mood when writing it… In reality, I’m very much enjoying myself now and not planning to kill anyone, least of all myself ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Glad to hear you’re doing well. We all toss out stuff like that from time to time. Next week it will probably be me saying that I want to cut my wrists as the niece and nephew are getting dropped off here for 5 days. (Please, Lord, let there be no storms on the day they are supposed to go back.)

        1. Oh my dear, I’m so sorry to hear about your ordeal! I only have one nephew and I’m always torn between wanting to murder him and murder myself when he is near, so I feel your pain… Wish you good luck. All fingers crossed.
