Today’s keyword in the Photo 101 challenge, double, made me chuckle like Chucky Doll. It was a private joke of a person whose diploma thesis dealt with the literary motif of the double and who leads double existence as a sane person by day and an insane blogger by night. For the sake of your sanity, I’ll spare you my diploma thesis and present instead double lines found in the fields.
Both photos are very nice! Those lines sort of ‘draw’ your eye into the picture. Lovely!

I just love this post ❤️
Those photos are perfect for the challenge and bring to life the fields we have discussed recently
I’m a bit freaked out by the idea of you as a Chucky double …..but I certainly get the concept of the double existence – sane / insane point…for a whole bunch of reasons…
As for the photos, I love the angle in the top one, and I just want to walk along that track and see what happens (and yes I know you will tell me it just leads to another field, but we can all dream…)
and the second photo is just great everything seems to be positioned perfectly, even the pole and wires look right…your village?
…and to early for a dram…
hope your day is going well…

Awe, thank you stopping by despite my implications of me being a vampire and/or Chucky the Doll :-O The concept of doubles is certainly a universal one, and one that appeals to me – for a whole bunch of reasons, as you say.
And you know me too well, of course that the dirt road leads from one field to another, what else would you expect, haha. This particular village is not “my” village but a neighbouring one. They got some symmetry in there, guys.
Hm, a bit too early for a dram, true, and also maybe I shouldn’t drink every day. But I must either have a drink or a big bar of chocolate each day. I wonder if it’s worse becoming an alcoholic or an obese person. Anyway, hope your day is going fine too!

Kitty you could never be obese so go for the chocolates and give me some too! 😀

Ah, entire new photo ops in neighbouring village? All those people… 😉
Getting close to dram time soon though…
My day is going…and will soon be time for a dram…i probably wont be obese but…
Good to hear from you as always…

One field leads to another field leads to another field and so on and then there is Poland and more fields. Sorry, I’m a spoilsport. Please don’t even bring up the idea of a dram or I’ll have one even before dinner. Not what I normally do. Wait. I haven’t had dinner yet! Thanks for reminding me…

hmmm – I actually like the thought of a double existence. I want to sign up for one of those 😉
… and I really like the photos you chose for today’s theme … especially the first one. I may be a city girl now, but I was raised in a small isolated town. Dirt roads always have a familiar feel to me.

I also love the thought of a double existence, that’s why I’m leading one! I mean, two. I especially like the Scottish story of Jekyll and Hyde, this one you’ll probably know, but a less well known fun fact is that Stevenson was inspired to write his Jekyll and Hyde by one Deacon Brodie, a respectable Edinburgh citizen who was a cabinet maker by day and a burglar by night. The Scottish character in particular is thought of ridden by doubles.
I’m flattered that I brought back some memories of your childhood in the country, that’s good! 🙂

I didn’t know that Jekyll and Hyde were inspired by a real person.
If I’m going to have a double existence, I would prefer one of them to be a super-hero or really glamorous.
… Maybe I’ll have to lower my expectations a little 😉

Being aware of your double life, my dearest fellow blogger, and being an adept of doubles myself, I got immensely interested in learning about your thesis…when is the post coming? Has your grandma anything to do with that? Your muse? 🙂
LikeLike
Thank you for stopping by and gently nudging me again to appreciate my fields as you do 😉 Really. Your comment made me smile – sure I am aware of the promise I made about producing the grandma post, it’s not done yet but I have an idea how to go about it now and will put it together in due time.
The grandma has in fact nothing to do with my thesis about doubles, and though I am going to post the grandma, I’m not thinking of posting any part of my thesis – that’s of little to no general interest, I think. Also, and even worse, I could be identified for those nosy enough and could suffer the consequences of what I’ve written on my blog :-O So no thesis, much to general relief!
If you’re interested in doubles in Scottish literature, though, my thesis was based on the ideas formulated in Gregory Smith’s Scottish Literature: Character and Influence, a concept known as the Caledonian Antisyzygy. I used Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde and Hogg’s Confessions of a Justified Sinner as a starting point. See, I told you it’s not interesting! 😉

Most welcome, Mara. Happy to make you smile! Your comments of today made me smile too.
I was merely provoking your sardonic side, and not reminding you of grandma’s most. I have not forgotten it though…
Granted, thesis is off-limits.
Until now, I wasn’t interested in Scottish Literature – as I’m just a Psychologist/business woman who has dedicated way too much time of my reading hours to business books – but the subjects already grabbed my attention and I shall check it out. You can transform me into a more cultured blogger. 😉 Not sure I can even pronounce this: ‘Antisyzygy” and my Oxford dictionary asked me to go back to you!
LikeLike
Antisyzygy is a tough one and apparently no one knows how to pronounce it properly. Oxford Dictionary doesn’t include the term, as I have found out myself when I was looking for the pronunciation, and the most detailed account of the term I found here: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/antisyzygy.
You are obviously not uncultured, hence no need to explore areas that are of little interest for you. I’m sure you’re quite well-informed in your field – you strike as a highly qualified professional. If you do like some dark reading, though, Scottish literature might be just for you!
