Photo 101: Treasure

Finally! Photo 101 challengers came up with a prompt for which the cat lady can rightly use a cat picture without being called gratuitous. Guess what the cat lady’s treasure is. (That wasn’t a real question.) Here is the cat lady’s lady cat Ella, two and half years old and still acting like a kitty.

      1. “Kitties can never disappoint, right?”….yeah, but once upon a time, a real time indeed! …it happened like this:
Taking a rest on a hot summer day, keeping the window open, hoping for the little breeze to come….bzz..bzz….bzz….shock!!
A cat from the neighborhood coming over the roof jumping in the room, touching my feet.
        I frightened…a little moment.
        Offering feed we became friends….
(My english it…. is allright so far ?)

        1. What? You’re worried about your English? Why would you be, it’s perfectly fine!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience: if it was me, I’d hate cats for the rest of my life! Glad you became friends though πŸ˜€

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

    1. Awe, thank you! Sadly, she’s an outdoors cat, my husband wouldn’t allow me a pet in the house, but at least she has a complete liberty as to where she can go and what she can climb and scratch and the like πŸ™‚

      1. We live on the 9th floor, so here it’s a given … it’s also in the city. Luckily my husband and I were in full agreement when we ‘adopted’ him πŸ˜€

        1. Ah, lucky you, and lucky your cat πŸ™‚ Well, I’m trying to convert my husband to a normal, that is, cat loving person. So far I managed to make him take the cat in the garage when he is in, because there’s a heating device and the cat likes to bask in the heat. Apparently, he also talks to her when she’s there…

          1. Except I can talk with my cat about everything, while the husband limits himself only to “what’s up”. The cat allegedly responds “meow” in a content tone when she’s curled up next to the heater and “meow” in an angry tone when it’s time for her to go back outdoors…

    1. Love it that you love it! Yes, pets are the perfect response for this challenge (for any challenge, for the matter πŸ˜‰ ) I’m more of a cat person but your dog is absolutely enticing, owing to his blue-brown eyes too!

  1. Oh the one thing we differ on, I’m a dog person and am allergic to cats (shock, I can hear you gasp!) BUT having said that your photos of your treasure are absolutely delightful and the look in her eyes is so cute and has been captured perfectly, it almost make me like cats…… πŸ˜€

    1. Oh never mind that you’re a dog person, I forgive you πŸ˜‰ Haha, just joking of course. I think I can recall the photo of your with the beautiful fluffy white dog belonging to your sister, if I’m not mistaken? There were very moving photos showing the love between you two πŸ™‚ Sorry if I got you converted to a cat person, maybe you could be both dog-and-cat person?

    1. Smug is the word! That’s the very essence of cats, being not only smug but also so adorable while at it that they have their humans under complete control… I’m no exception.

    1. Ha! So is there a chance I would convert you from a dog person to a cat person yet? πŸ˜‰ On second thought, why couldn’t you be both! I normally prefer cats but I can’t say that I hate my mother’s dog either πŸ™‚

    1. Awe, Ella says a huge thank you!! Yep, she is photogenic as long as I’m patient enough to take hundreds of photos to get at least a few good ones that are not blurred and that actually show the cat — she doesn’t normally wait for me to press the shutter…

      1. I’ve always had black cats and they are notoriously hard to photograph cuz they look like big black blobs on camera. They also wouldn’t wait for the shutter…

        1. I know, I have one black cat too! She only shoots nice against green grass or against snow, obviously. I think our cats should care more for our efforts to shoot them. Shoot like with the camera, that is.

  2. This cat is ready to go modeling. Beautiful pictures. I’m no cat lover as I was once kind of attacked by one, but have to admit this one looks sweet and obedient. Well, it’s your cat, so I guess he has to! Great shots.

    1. Oh my dear, you were attacked by a cat?! What was wrong with the creature? Cats as I know them are usually timid and won’t come close to strangers. My cats for instance are scared when visitors come and just run away and hide. This particular feline of mine isn’t very obedient but she’s very sweet and cuddly and wouldn’t kill a fly even if her life depended on it!

      1. You could have asked what was wrong with me…ok, I don’t like cats, and my guess is I can’t hide and they sense that. One night while staying with friends and their 7 cats, I woke up very early and when opening the bedroom’s door, the 7 were there waiting for me…they jumped on me, perhaps to play, but I interpreted it as an attack…Needless to say how embarrassed I was to wake up the whole family, as they heard me screaming…oops!

        1. I see! That’s quite a scary story. Well, I believe the cats were overjoyed to see a human after the whole night, so I doubt that they meant to attack you and eat you alive. I can of course imagine your horror at having a bunch of felines jump at you! Don’t worry though, I only have two cats and they don’t jump at people. They seem to remember that should avoid strangers and children because my ill-bred nephew always attempts to molest them. They have learned to hide from him specifically. Smart cats I have!

  3. Your lovely girl does look like a kitten compared to my big bruiser.

People are either in the love ’em or hate ’em category when it comes to cats. I’m in the love ’em category. For those of us with a cat that returns our affection, it is a real treasure!! ❀

    1. True, it looks like people either adore and dislike cats, there’s no middle ground! Strange. I’m glad that we’re in the same category of cat lovers! ❀ Oh, this particular cat is an eternal kitten, but my other cat is pretty badass — I feed them both the same, but the other one is much larger and fatter, yet she is surprisingly athletic and fast. It's fun to watch the two furballs chasing each other in the garden!

  4. wow I am so incredibly jealous that your kitty performs so well, you know she looks absolutely stunning esp in the last one, now I keep trying to persuade mine with treats to pose but i bet you don’t even need that! Great pics xx

    Like

  5. No need to be jealous!! It may look like the cat is ready for a modelling career, but it’s rather me being patient enough to snap hundreds of pictures before I get at least a few good ones. She not only wouldn’t pose, but she always tries to eat the camera too. Not too camera friendly! I must wait for her to get sleepy and then go and shoot. And sure, I feed her treats before each session…
