Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective

Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective

Celebrating my stunning photoshopping skills the goodness of photo cropping and post-editing in general. Vision on the left: a lovely lake in a forest; reality on the right: a rusty bathtub in the yard.

    1. Thank you a lot! This is actually my favourite photo, I have several dozens of this kind of serious “art” photos over at Flickr, and this one is the most viewed too 🙂 The post-editing was a lucky accident that happened to turn out well.

    1. Thank you, Justine! In fact, I’m already using this photo as my header on most of my other social networks! If you like, you can check out how it looks via the buttons at the top of the blog – I have it on Flickr, Medium, Google+ and elsewhere 🙂 By the way, yes, I used to be a social media hater and part of me still is, but I seem to have become addicted to them… Hope you won’t hate me…

        1. Aaww, thank you for not hating me! It’s enough for me to hate myself, heh. Anyway. Twitter confused me a lot a few months ago, strangely, I got a hang of it and now I’m a social media manic. My feelings about this are ambivalent – maybe I should spend more time doing something more useful.

  1. A silly question perhaps is there a badge for the weekly photo challenge? I saw your weekly one below, the orange one but that’s for writing. Also is there a page to follow other than the daily post that posts out everyones weekly photo posts? xx

        1. Whew, that was a challenging evening/night yesterday, I’m happy to be back to normal, just me and my computer (and my cats and hubby lurking somewhere near)!

          1. I prefer being alone, but other than that, the visit was quite fun. And we were drinking some very good 14-year-old whiskey, which didn’t hurt either 😀

          2. No headache at all! I’ve had quite a lot of the good stuff and it was clearly quality drink because I felt neither too drunk nor having a hangover. The Scotch people know what they’re doing – it was a scotch whiskey 😀

    2. A very relevant question, I was wondering the same.

There’s no official badge for the weekly photo challenge, but some bloggers have made badges of their own. I’m just using the orange WordPress badge, Michelle Weber — member of the WordPress support — told me the other day in community forums that it’s ok to grab this badge for the photo challenge too.

And no, there’s no special page for the weekly photo challenge, just keep on following the Daily Post. There’s just one post per week (I guess that’s why it’s called a weekly challenge), published on Friday evenings of our time. The mechanics is the same as with the daily prompt challenges – you link to the photo challenge post in your own post and your pingback appears below the article.

I think it’s great because it’s creative and also it draws new visitors to the blog 😉

          1. Oh? But I can’t find the badge you made on your blog, is it there yet? Also, WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR THEME? You changed it once again! It’s not that I don’t love the look, it’s rather that changes always confuse me…

          2. Oh I paid for a theme I took hours to find the one before I paid for turned my theme upside down I was v stressed. I’m liking this one lots of options. Pic is on a new page under awards it’s quite simple really as a pic hehe

          3. I can see your Photo Challenge badge now! Stupid me, how did I not see it? I love the page where you put your awards and challenges, a great idea! And I do love your new theme too. I know how hard it is to find a theme that fits – I’ve been looking for a good fit for ages now – and I’m looking forward to see what customisations and things you’ll do with your theme now!

          4. No timers for me, I changed my mind. I’ll keep on using my husband as a timer – when he comes home from work in the evening, I know that it’s about time to stop fiddling with the blog and start doing some actual work.
